USPS Service Disruption in Hawaii

The United States Postal Service has issued a service disruption alert for the Puna region of the Island of Hawaii.  

If you are a pension plan retiree receiving a benefit check to your home, and you live near or around the vicinity of recent volcanic activity, you will likely experience a delay receiving your check.    

If you have not received your pension check via mail, you may contact PBGC to:

  1. Enroll in electronic direct deposit of your check to eliminate the risk of postal delays; or
  2. Update your mailing address to an alternate pay destination address.  

Please call our Customer Contact Center at 1-800-400-7242, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET. TTY/ASCII users may call 711.
