Question: What help can I get from the Customer Contact Center?

Answer: Our Customer Service Representatives can help you change your address or telephone number, or can help you set up or change your direct deposit information. And of course, they can answer general questions about PBGC. For questions they cannot answer or transactions that they do not handle, they will transfer your call to the PBGC field office that is processing your pension plan.

Question: Is there an online tool that lets me perform certain transactions with the PBGC?

Answer: Yes. An online tool, MyPBA, is available from our website, www.pbgc.gov, under the Workers and Retirees tab. With a MyPBA account, you can: change your address, telephone number, or e-mail address, apply for electronic direct deposit (EDD) or edit your EDD information, change your Federal Tax Withholdings or designate a beneficiary for a benefit that may be owed at death.

You need the following information to open up an account: your first and last names, your Social Security Number, your date of birth, your case number and an email address.

Question: Can I email my questions to the PBGC?

Answer: Yes. Use this email address: mypension@pbgc.gov.

Question: Who should I contact if I have a problem that could not be solved through other means?

Answer: Call our Problem Resolution Officer at 1-800-400-7242, ext. 4014. Or, you can address a letter to the Office of the Problem Resolution Officer, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, 1200 K Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005-4026.
