PBGC Website Gets New Look with Faster and Easier Navigation Tools

WASHINGTON—The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) today launched a newly redesigned website,, that will offer faster and easier ways to find information.

The new design is based on months of feedback from users. Visitors will notice the site is easier to navigate with links that are more clearly labeled and explained.

For instance, the home page has a revolving carousel highlighting new items on the website and other features of interest. We have also added a "Resources" tab to help people find reference content, whether for a specific task or to return to frequently sought after information.

All content from the old website still exists. In some cases the information has been moved to a new location. For example, many of the legal documents and sources of guidance have been relocated to the new Resources section. The Resources section also houses our annual reports, fact sheets, and data books.

The site also has new functionality, including the option to print plan pages, e-mail content, or increase the font size of certain pages. Additionally, we have maintained the primary features of our former site, such as the Missing Participant List, as well as online applications MyPBA, My PAA, and e4010.

The PBGC is a federal agency that guarantees payment of private pension benefits when companies and pension plans fail. It protects some 44 million Americans in over 27,500 private defined benefit pension plans. The PBGC pays benefits using insurance premiums and assets and other recoveries from plans and their sponsors; it receives no taxpayer funds.
